Located in the foot of a gypsum hill, on the banks of Odrón river, Los Arcos is the heiress of ancient roman Curnonium.
Los Arcos had a strong growth by it's position on Road to Santiago, and its cross-roads position after. Here intersects the road Logroño to Pamplona with Vitoria to Calahorra.
The history of Los Arcos belongs to a copious in wine and battles village.
Los Arcos is the most important village in an area with 4.500 inhabitants. People work in agriculture, although the services have an important place.Peregrino
It is very important for Los Arcos to be placed in the Road to Santiago. In this way it has the especial character of the towns that welcome the pilgrims crossing to Compostela.

What to do?


Los Arcos climate is no doubt one of its best attractions. This dry and sun climate guarantees be able to enjoy the nature and all kind of open air activities.
Other village attraction is its gastronomy. Everybody knows about the navarreses mastery with fresh greens and country products, especially peppers and asparagus, so typical in this area. If you have the opportunity, taste some greens as cardo and borraja as well as the delicious alubias pochas.
Our cooks are specialized also in flesh cooking, as the excellent and traditional in this region baked meals. We recommend you to taste the delicious baked lamb.
The meal will be perfect with a good wine. Without doubt you will enjoy the wines elaborated and aged in Los Arcos cellars that are considered among the most valuables of Navarra.

What to see?


In a simple walk you can discover all the delights this beautiful village has.
In addition to Sta. María parish church that is the principal monument, you will admire the Estanco and Sta. María doorways. The last is dated in S. XVII, with its three showy coats of arms.
Moreover, if you cross Los Arcos streets and squares you will find several baroque mansions and manor houses dated in S. XVII and XVIII.
Los Arcos has three hermitages: Calvario - a S. XVIII baroque building-, St. Sebastián and St. Blas.
We recommend you to visit the Concepcionistas convent and its church.
